BOYS 4x8 DIPS UNDER ELUSIVE BARRIER TO HIGHLIGHT MEET OF CHAMPIONS

Meet Information
MIAA Meet of Champions
February 22, 2025
Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center - Boston, MA
RESULTS
BOSTON, MA - The Meet of Champions no longer features a team competition, so while Reggie was rocking 10 days prior as school competed for the Division 1 Championships, it was all about the individual performances on Saturday. As a results, The Minutemen rested many of its top performers from Divisionals, as they gear up for the New Balance Indoor Nationals in mid-March. However, there were still a number of highlights for LHS.
Traditionally the two-minute mark is the 800m measuring stick for boys at the prep level. And, for a team to be able to put together four guys on the same day to deliver is sub 8-minute 4x8 puts them in rarefied air, as only a few dozen schools nationwide can boast such a team. At the Meet of Champions, The Minutemen put themselves in that company as the team of seniors James Joseph, Max Zhang, and Zach Barry along with sophomore Arjun Raha became just the second team in LHS history to break the 8-minute mark indoors. The quartet ran 7:59.52 to earn the silver medal behind a sensational run by the boys from Lowell. Along with their big day, it was another standout meet for junior Ainsley Cuthbertson. She began her day in the Shot Put where her throw of 37'10.50" earned her fourth place overall. She followed that up with a silver medal winning performance in the 20lb. Weight Throw, as her best mark flew out to 46'8". Fellow classmate Aubrey Deardorf delivered the final top-five finish on the day for The Minutemen. In signature style, her first jump of the competition was her best. The LHS junior sailed 18'3" into the pit and that mark held up to earn her fifth place overall.
Other Highlights from the Meet
Up Next
Freshman Janie Conrad and sophomore Callie Glenn will toe the line at the USATF-NE Indoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday, February 23rd. Action begins at Gordon Indoor Track at Harvard University at 10am.
