KOHUT SHINES IN THE MSTCA FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORE MEET
Meet Information
MSTCA Auerbach Freshman/Sophomore Meet
January 24, 2026
Reggie Lewis Center - Boston, MA
RESULTS
BOSTON, MA - With a winter storm blowing through the Northeast, meet organizers had to flip the schedule, and place the Freshman/Sophomore Meet on Saturday afternoon. Along with the new date, this year's meet eliminated the large school and small school formats, which meant the best underclassmen in the state were all together at Reggie Lewis on Saturday evening. For The Minutemen, there were a number a good performances, but it was freshman Abbey Kohut who stood above the rest.
Kohut already has established herself as one of the best high hurdlers in the Bay State during her freshman campaign. However, on Saturday she focused all her attention on the long jump, and delivered a massive performance in doing so. After a foul on her first attempt, Kohut delivered a PR of 16'10.50" on her second. The freshman pushed it up another level on her final jump of the prelims as she landed 17'2" into the pit. That mark would hold up to earn her the 6th place medal on the day. And, for further historical context, already ranks her as the 6th best long jumper in LHS history.
