Meet Information
The 118th Millrose Games
January 30 & February 1, 2026
The Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory - New York, NY
RESULTS
NEW YORK, NY - For over 100 years, as the calendar has turned to February, the eyes of the track & field world have turned to New York City for the Millrose Games. For nearly a century, the Millrose Games hosted the world's best professional, collegiate, and high school talent in the most famous arena in the world, Madison Square Garden. However, in 2012, the meet was moved to its current home at one of the fastest tracks in the world, The Armory. In recent years, Lexington High School has seen a handful of boys selected to compete at the Millrose Games. Micah Benson (LHS '20), Evan Eberle (LHS '22), Joshua Backert (LHS '20), and Andrew McGovern (LHS '20) competed in the 4x800m relay in 2020. While Nayan Das (LHS '24), Zach Barry (LHS '25), Joey Ryan (LHS '24), and Max Zhang (LHS '25) competed in the event at the 2024 meet. This year, LHS had its first girls in recent memory invited to compete in New York, as senior captain Ainsley Cuthbertson participated in the weight throw, and the 4x8 of junior Callie Glenn, along with sophomores Mackenzie Callahan, Ceci Kvaal, and Amelia Whorton toed the line in what turned out to be a historic race.
On Friday night, Cuthbertson, who entered the night as the US #1 weight thrower with a PR of 57'9.75", faced toughest competition of her career by far. Along with the LHS senior, the Millrose Games assembled a field of weight throwers that included girls ranked #2, #4, and 2 girls tied at #5 in the nation. When athletes reach that level of competition, it truly is anyone's game, and that would prove to be the case at The Armory. After a first round foul, Cuthbertson calmly delivered a throw of 52'3.75" that qualified her 5th in the 6-person final. The LHS senior had a miscue on her first attempt in finals, but managed to deliver a mark of 54'3.75" with her penultimate throw. However, she still sat in 5th place, and was chasing the 55'10.25" mark of Smithield, RI's Taylor McGuiness. When she stepped into the wooden circle for the final time, Cuthbertson was pumped up, and violently whirled through her three turns. Unfortunately, she pulled the 20-pound implement just a bit on the release, and it crashed a few feet up on the cage just past the 53-foot mark for a foul. In the end, Cuthbertson would have to settle for 5th place to Vanessa Jones of Toll Gate (RI). Jones dropped a bomb, 57'1", that snatched the Millrose Games title from her fellow Ocean State competitor on her final throw.
Sunday, the Lex girls were back at The Armory for the 4x800m relay. As was the case for the weight throw, the field was absolutely stacked with talent. IMG Academy (FL), who's girls set the national record (8:46.04) in the event last winter. Union Catholic (NJ), which was fresh off a third place finish at the Nike Cross Nationals. And, Penn Charter (PA), which consistently boasts one of the finest prep school programs, highlighted the field. As for LHS, the team brought two of the girls who were a part of the relay that ran 9:09.84 last spring, and were primed to see how they stacked up against the best teams in the US. Unfortunately, things quickly went sideways for Lexington. Glenn got out well, and began moving up through the field around the 400m mark. However, she faltered over the final two laps, and handed off in 10th place after a 2:25.76 split. Callahan managed a 2:24.91 split, which kept the team in the same position as she handed off to Kvaal. At that point Union Catholic, and IMG were lapping the Lex girls, which ended up benefiting the LHS sophomore, as she had girls to contend with for the first three laps of her leg. After a 2:22.99 split, Kvaal handed off to Whorton who delivered a 2:13.65 split that brought them past the team from Bullis (MD). The Lex girls would go on to cross the line eighth with a final time of 9:27.29. Up at the front, Union Catholic won the title, and shattered IMG's previous national record with a sensational time of 8:40.07.
