LEXINGTON SCORES BIG AT THE NOR'EASTER AT THE TRACK

Meet Information
The Nor'easter at the TRACK
January 10-11, 2026

the TRACK at New Balance - Boston, MA

RESULTS

BOSTON, MA - For the second time this winter, the TRACK at New Balance played host to a major two-day invitational that drew top prep talent from around the northeast. With The Nor'easter at the TRACK being a team scored meet, the invitational was the perfect setting for a number of Lexington's best athletes, especially the girls, to showcase their stuff as the championship season nears. Despite not bringing their entire team, the Lex girls fell just one point shy of taking home the team title at the inaugural invite. The girls from Bloomfield (CT) took home the trophy with 58 points overall. Meanwhile, on Sunday, the handful of LHS boys who laced up their spikes were able to score 15 points, which earned them a 13th place finish. Fordham Prep won the boys' title with 60 points overall.

The Lex girls scored points on the oval, in the jumps, and in the throws. However, no event produced more points for Lexington than the 2 mile. Sophomore Ella Tyson, along with juniors Erin Ehmann, Callie Glenn, and Alycia Charest were separated by no more than a stride through the opening mile. Over the final 8 laps of the race, the gap between the quartet did widen, but only slightly, as each of the four athletes placed in the top 6. In her first career indoor 2 mile, Tyson (11:31.07) earned the runner-up finish with a time that qualified her for the MIAA Division 1 Championship. Ehmann finished just three-hundredths-of-a-second ahead of Glenn for third place overall with a time of 11:33.87. Glenn's fourth place time was 11:33.90. Just behind her classmates was Charest, who crossed the line fifth overall with a time of 11:36.67. While the distance squad did their jobs on the oval, the Lex girls were buoyed by their captain Ainsley Cuthbertson. The superstar senior battled her way through illness for her teammates on Saturday as she delivered 20 points, and a double gold performance. Cuthbertson's day began in the shot put where every one of her 6 throws were better than all of her competitors' marks. In the end, it was her second throw of 40'7" that was her best. The competition was a bit more stiff in the 20lb. weight throw, as Bloomfield senior Payton Sirdine managed a number of big marks, the best of which flew 49'7.75". After Sirdine's final throw landed foul, Cuthbertson, who's best throw to that point was 51'8.75", knew the victory was hers. She then stepped into the circle one final time, and dug deep to unleash a 54'8.50" bomb that landed to the sound of her cheering squad erupting from the balcony. Over on the infield, Cuthbertson's fellow classmate and captain, Aubrey Deardorf, competed in the triple jump for the first time in her career. An All-American in the long jump last spring, Deardorf always had the tools, but just never was in position to try the event throughout her time at LHS. Her first attempt on Saturday proved that all her long jump ability translated quite well to the more technical of the horizontal jumps, as she leapt her way to 34'8.25". On Deardorf's second to last attempt of the competition, she delivered her best mark of the day, 34'11.50". Not only did that mark hold off Bloomfield's April Nathaniel (34'9"), but it bested the LHS indoor record in the event, and ranks her fifth on LHS's all-time list both indoors and outdoors. Along with Deardorf's breakout performance, sophomore Sabina Green also earned her spot on the podium. After making it to finals with a best mark of 32'11", Green put down a jump of 33'9.75" to earn bronze, and 6 more points for her team. The final point scorer on the day for LHS was senior Felice Haverly. After taking multiple attempts to clear lower heights, Haverly was clean over 5'0" on the first jump. That clean sheet gave her the tiebreaker over LaSalle Academy's (RI) Jillian Lewis and Bloomfield's D"Asia Duncan, as she secured one point with the 6th place finish.

Other Highlights for the Girls
  • Deardorf finished 7th in the 55m dash with a season best mark of 7.43 seconds; junior Natalie Seed ran a personal best of 7.94 to finish 21st.
  • In the 2 mile, sophomore Janie Conrad qualified for the Division 1 Championship and finished 11th with a time of 11:48.62; senior Meghan Caldera hit the Middlesex League Championship standard with a time of 11:59.26, as she finished 15th.
  • Junior Emily Hoefkens returned to the form that made her so successful during her sophomore campaign, as she finished 14th overall in 9.44 seconds.
  • Green won the sophomore section of the 55m dash by daylight; she delivered a huge personal best time of 7.52 seconds that qualified her for Divisionals.
  • The freshman/sophomore division of the long jump saw LHS's 10th grader, Maya Nogalski, place 6th overall with a personal best leap of 14'0".
  • Sophomore Evelyn Radcliffe competed in the unattached section of the weight throw, and, in her first time ever throwing the implement in competition, earned a runner-up finish with a throw of 35'0.25".

Sunday, The Minutemen saw the return of Alden Hall. After a successful fall on the trails, where the LHS junior was a key piece of a cross country team that finished fourth at the Meet of Champions, The Nor'easter at the TRACK was the first opportunity for Hall to go through the gears on the 200m oval. Hall, and sophomore Andrew Zhang, traded positions throughout the latter half of the 2 mile, but it was a 33-second final lap that brought the junior through the line in 4th place overall with a time o 9:58.26. Meanwhile, Zhang (9:59.39) was just behind him in 5th place overall. Those performances were enough to qualify both athletes for the Middlesex League Championship.

Other Highlights for the Boys
  • In the pole vault, senior captain Aidan Raney tied for 2nd place overall with a first attempt clearance of 13'0".
  • Senior captain Simon Tandeih earned a pair of 6th place finishes on Sunday; he ran 7.89 seconds in the finals of the 55m hurdles, and leapt out to 20'9" in the long jump.
