LEXINGTON, MA - The forecast looked bright for The Minutemen as they welcomed Belmont to Lexington on Tuesday afternoon. For the first half of the meet, sunny skies and warm temperatures gave athletes a near perfect setting for performing at their best. However, as the meet approached the midway point, a band of heavy wind and rain blew through town and paused the meet for about an hour. Once the restart button was hit, The Minutemen got right back to work finishing off a pair of victories over the Marauders. The boys won by a score of 112-13. Meanwhile LHS's girls took home the victory by a score of 99-37.
LHS's Bomb Squad was in top form on Tuesday, as junior Sam Myerberg (158'8) improved on his personal best in the Javelin by over 7 feet, as he took home the win in the event. Fellow classmate Nick Roell's hulking style in the Shot Put and Discus led to personal bests and another pair of victories for his team. In the Discus Roell's final attempt. from a stand, flew 139'4", which was a PR by nearly 12 feet. His throw in the Shot of 43'6" was also a personal best. Along with the big days turned in by Myerberg and Roell, junior Franz Schroeder had a major breakthrough in the Hammer. On his first throw of the competition, Schroeder launched the 12-pound ball 184'0" into the sector. That mark broke his previous personal best by 14 feet and blew threw the qualifying standard for the New Balance Outdoor Nationals. Back on the track, LHS's dynamic hurdle duo made their season debut in the 110m Hurdles. Junior captain Simon Tandeih (15.00) and senior Ryan Zhang (15.08) cruised to victory and both dipped well under the MIAA Division 1 Championship standard.
The meet got off to a great start for the Lex girls on the track. Freshman Sarojini Nath earned her first career victory for LHS as she won the 400m Hurdles in a personal best time of 1:12.09. Coming from the JV section, sophomore Resara Seneviratne blew away the field to win her section in a time of 1:13.00. That mark qualified her for the Division 1 Championships, which made her LHS's fourth girl in two weeks to hit the mark in the event. Next on the track was the Mile where the Lex girls squared off against Belmont superstar Dana Lehr. The Columbia commit boasts PRs of 4:48 and 10:31 for the Mile and 2 Mile, and went on to win the event on Tuesday by a wide margin. However, LHS freshman Natalie Bielat and sophomore Alycia Charest were locked in a battle with Belmont junior Kira Van Kelsted for second place. The trio were right together through 1200m, when Van Kelsted moved past Bielat for the lead down the backstretch. Bielat remained calm and responded with a strong kick around the final turn to burst into the lead. The freshman held on down the final straight to cross the line with a new personal best of 5:27.47, which qualified her for Divisionals. For her efforts, Charest (5:31.51) also hit the Divisional mark as she finished fourth overall. Ainsley Cuthbertson continued her stellar spring on Tuesday. She began her day with another PR in the Hammer (148'4"), which moves her up to US #23 in the event. The junior then headed over to the Shot Put where she became the first female thrower in LHS history to eclipse the elusive 40-foot barrier in the Shot Put. Her best throw landed at 40'1", which ranks her MA #3. Cuthbertson then finished off her day with her third victory in as many events, as she matched her personal record in the Discus with a throw of 114'4".

The Minutemen have a bye week over April vacation, but return to action the following Wednesday, April 30th against rival Woburn. The Lex girls have had some epic duals with Woburn over the years, and this year is expected to be no different when the Tanners come to town. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4pm at the Lexington Center Track.

- Sophomore Patrick Noonan debuted in the 2 Mile with a big victory in a Division 1 qualifying time of 9:39.14; fellow classmate Trevor Stevens (9:44.14) improved his qualifying time from last week; meanwhile junior Will Parker (10:11.31) achieved the Middlesex League Championships standard in the event.
- Junior captain Amari Mow debuted in the 100m in style as he won the event with a Division 1 qualifying time of 11.15 seconds; senior Tim George qualified for the League Championships with a time of 11.53 seconds.
- Tandeih flew to the second farthest jump in LHS history, as he won the Long Jump with a leap of 22'10.75"; junior Pranay Kocheta became The Minutemen's fourth jumper over 20 feet the season with a leap of 20'0.25", which qualified him for League.
- In the 800m, sophomore Arjun Raha PRed and qualified for Divisionals in a time of 2:01.20; sophomores Finn O'Donnell (2:03.62) and Eric House (2:04.72) both qualified for League in the event.
- Junior Cleavon Manor Jr. won the Triple Jump with a Division 1 qualifying leap of 43'6".
- Sophomore Cayden Chambers won the 200m in a League qualifying time of 23.09 seconds; senior Sharif Robinson Jr. (23.89) also hit the League mark.
- The 400m Hurdles saw senior Kabir Gokarn (1:03.84) and junior Panos Kokkinias (1:03.95) go one-two and qualify for League in the process.
- It was freshman Rhys Behling (4:44.19) who qualified for League in the Mile out of the JV section.
- In the Discus, junior Christian Brown (118'6") hit the League mark.
Other Highlights for the Girls
- Junior captain Thayer DiCerbo broke the elusive 12-minute barrier in the 2 Mile and qualified for Divisionals with a time of 11:59.30; junior Meghan Caldera (12:21.22) and freshman Daphne Warren (12:40.79) both hit the League Championship standard.
- Junior Aubrey Deardorf achieved a PR of 12.75 seconds in the 100m to improve on her Divisional mark.
- In the 200m, junior Felice Haverly (26.10) won going away and achieved the Division 1 standard in her third event of the season.
- Junior Rose Neely (2:25.19) lowered her League qualifying mark in the 800m; freshman Addie Haiar (2:29.61) and senior captain Claire Cunningham (2:30.66) both hit the League standard for the first time in the event this season.
- Freshman Evelyn Radcliffe (93'10") and junior Ella Wolosoff (89'2") both hit the League standard in the Discus.
- The 400m saw freshman Casey Wilkas (1:04.27) and sophomore Marissa Hao (1:04.36) both qualify for the League Championships in the event.
- It was freshman Cynthia Gu who flew out 33'8" to win the Triple Jump with a League qualifying performance of her own.
- In the 400m Hurdles, junior Monjola Finnih qualified for the League Championships with a time of 1:15.12.
