RANEY TAKES 4TH IN VAULT TO HIGHLIGHT DAY 1 OF MEET OF CHAMPIONS FOR LHS

Meet Information
MIAA Meet of Champions Day 1
June 5, 2025
Elliott Athletic Complex - Fitchburg, MA
RESULTS
FITCHBURG, MA - Thursday, The Minutemen had a small contingent of athletes compete at Day 1 of the Meet of Champions. With no team title on the line, and many athletes preparing for the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in a couple weeks, this meet serves as a last chance and a final tune-up for LHS's top competitors.
Junior Aidan Raney has the highlight of the day for Lexington. In a Pole Vault competition that only saw 7 athletes get over the opening height of 12'6", Raney cleared the bar at 13'6" on his final attempt. With the bar moved up to 14'0", a height that would have been his PR, the LHS junior took a solid first attempt before nearly climbing over the height on his second attempt. In the end, Raney's 13'6" placed him 4th overall, and earned him a spot at the New England Championships in New Britain, Connecticut next weekend.
