A FLURRY OF FINE PERFORMANCES FOR LHS ON THE FINAL WEEKEND BEFORE NATIONALS

Meet Information
New England Championships
June 14, 2025
Veterans Stadium - New Britain, CT
RESULTS
NEW BRITAIN, CT - After athletes from all 6 New England states travelled to Connecticut on Saturday, meet organizers were not going to let the driving rain that persisted throughout the day cancel the Pole Vault competitions. Instead, the less than ideal conditions simply forced athletes to overcome adversity and compete their hearts out as was expected for athletes in every other event. LHS junior Aidan Raney did just that. He rose to the occasion and on his second attempts cleared the bar at 12'6" and then again at 13'3". While he had solid attempts at 13'9", which would have been a personal best, his clearance at 13'3" earned him a 10th place finish. Raney, who was 4th at last week's Meet of Champions, finished second among Massachusetts vaulters on Saturday as 4 of the 6 Bay State athletes could not navigate the conditions to clear their opening heights.

USATF-NE Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships
June 14, 2025
Gordon College - Wenham, MA
RESULTS
WENHAM, MA - Sophomore Erin Ehmann entered the 2000m Steeplechase at the USATF-NE Junior Olympic Championships with a personal best of 7:43.37. Injuries derailed much of her Indoor season and her two previous steeple races were in early May before she had got back to the form that made her a key piece on The Minutemen's XC team this past fall. Saturday, though, it all came together for Ehmann. From the moment the gun fired it was clear she was the class of the field. She ran strong over the 5-lap race and crossed the line first with a sensational run of 7:21.97. Ehmann's time ranks MA #2 as the season nears its conclusion.

The Adrian Martinez Classic
June 14, 2025
Emerson Playground - Concord, MA
RESULTS
CONCORD, MA - The Adrian Martinez Classic has for years brought together some of the top youth, prep, and pro talent in the area to compete in various events at the local track in Concord. Saturday's edition saw LHS sophomore Patrick Noonan toe the line in the Boys Scholastic 1 Mile division for a final chance to compete this spring. This year, Noonan struggled to find the form that made him one of the elite freshman milers in the nation last year. However, if his performance in Concord was any indicator, there is still plenty of fire left in the young harrier. Noonan went through the halfway point with the top pack, which included Phillips Andover's Tamrat Gavenas, who boasts a 4:09 PR in the event. The LHS freshman was still in the mix along with 5 others as they approached the bell lap. Noonan then delivered a 63-second final lap to cross the line with a personal best time of 4:18.64. That mark placed him 4th overall and was a 10 second improvement on his pervious season best.
