RESULTS
READING, MA - The 2025 spring edition of the Lexington v. Reading meet was billed as the clash of the unbeatens. Both boys' and girls' squads entered Wednesday with unblemished 3-0 records, and The Minutemen were geared up for their first true team test this Outdoor. However, what was hyped up as a classic matchup quickly turned, as LHS overpowered the Rockets over nearly four hours of competition. The Minutemen won the boys' meet by a score of 109-27, and the girls' meet by a score of 93-43.
Junior captain Simon Tandeih has been tremendous across every event this spring. He has qualified for the MIAA Division 1 Championships in the three jumping events, the 200m, and the 110m Hurdles. On Wednesday, Tandeih took another step towards greatness in the hurdles as he won the event in a time of 14.64 seconds. That mark beat the LHS record held by former NCAA DIII All-American Matt Hunter (LHS '11) by one-hundredth of a second. Another big performance came from fellow classmate Nick Roell. The LHS junior competed in the Discus where, from a stand, he launched the disc an incredible 141'1" out into the sector to win the event. LHS's Bomb Squad was well represented in the Discus as senior Raphael LeDonne (129'3") hit the Divisional standard, and fellow classmate Adrian Boell (119'9") achieved the Middlesex League Championship standard en route to a sweep of the top three places.
For the Lex girls, junior Felice Haverly has been stepped up her game in every way this spring. Already one of the top 200/400 sprinters in Division 1, Haverly faced her toughest challenge of the season on Wednesday in the form of Reading superstar Kamryn Encarnacao. The pair dueled in the 200m and as the gun fired, Encarnacao, a 100m specialist, shot out to the lead around the turn. However, Haverly kept her close and managed to overtake her as the two screeched down the homestretch. In the end it was Haverly who got to the line first with a new personal best of 25.81 seconds. That mark puts Haverly third among D1 200m athletes. Shortly after, Haverly was back on the track as a leg of the 4x100m Relay along with juniors Bruguers Sagues and Aubrey Deardorf, as well as sophomore Natalie Seed. The quartet delivered a big victory with a season best time of 50.56 seconds, which ranks LHS fourth in Division 1. Along with Haverly's big day, sophomore Callie Glenn stepped up for her team to take on the Mile/2 Mile double. To begin the meet Glenn cruised to victory with a time of 5:16.99. That mark puts her well under the Division 1 standard in the event. The sophomore then came back to once again take care of businesses as she won the 2 Mile with a season best and Divisional qualifying time of 11:45.60.
