THE MINUTEMEN FLEX THEIR MUSCLES IN BIG WIN OVER WOBURN

Meet Information
Woburn Dual Meet
April 30, 2025
Lexington Center Track - Lexington, MA
RESULTS
LEXINGTON, MA - Last spring when the Tanners came to Lexington, their boys had one of their best performances in recent memory and bested The Minutemen by a score of 77-58. The Woburn girls fought hard, but fell in the end by a score of 86-50. However, the meet was far closer than the score would indicate. With that backdrop, the 2025 edition of the Lexington vs. Woburn meet had all the makings of a revenge tour for The Minutemen. Sure enough, that is exactly what unfolded as LHS was dominant from start to finish. Lexington's boys won by a score of 99-37, while the Lex girls were even more decisive on their way to a 102-24 victory.
In the boys' meet, Lexington was led by a number of standout performances in the field events. However, none stood out more than that of junior Sam Myerberg in the Javelin. After Myerberg took the lead with his opening throw of 150'1", Woburn's Nahshon Lubowa answered back on his second throw with a huge personal best of 154'6". On his next attempt, Myerberg sent the metal spear out 154'1" into the sector, but still remained in second place going into the final round. There, Lubowa fouled, and Myerberg took advantage. With his teammates cheering him down the runway the LHS junior launched the javelin 165'11" to win the event and smash the LHS record in the event previously held by Connor Hill (LHS '16). Over in the Shot Put, LHS again had to deal with Lubowa who threw the 12-pound ball 46'7" in the second round. However, Lexington junior Nick Roell responded back immediately with a big personal best of 47'9.25". That mark qualified him for the MIAA Division 1 Championships and won the event for his team. Over on the Triple Jump runway, juniors Cleavon Manor Jr. and captain Simon Tandeih dominated the field. Manor Jr.'s first attempt took him 44'4" out into the pit, which not only won the event but placed him #2 all-time in LHS history. Meanwhile, Tandeih's final jump was his best and with his mark of 43'2" he now ranks #4 on the LHS all-time list, in just his first time competing in the event.
It was another huge day for junior Ainsley Cuthbertson in the Hammer and Discus. She began her afternoon by shattering her previous best in the Hammer with a throw of 153'11". That mark extends her own LHS record and now ranks her US #23 in the event. Later, Cuthbertson finally took down the last school record that has eluded her as she won the Discus with an MA #2 throw of 125'4". Her throw bested the previous LHS record held by former teammate Quin Tandeih (LHS '24). With that, Cuthbertson now hold the LHS record in all five individual events in which she competes, which puts her in the company of LHS icons Meikle Paschal and Natasha Roetter who both graduated with at least five individual LHS records. Along with the big day for Cuthbertson, the Woburn meet also saw the return of three key pieces of LHS's Indoor State Championship team. Sophomore Callie Glenn blazed her way to a 76-second final 400m to win the Mile in 5:23.59. Next, freshman Amelia Whorton took the track in the 800m. She also took a controlled approach to the early part of the race, but delivered a 67-second final lap to win with a time of 2:17.20. Finally, it was freshman Janie Conrad who was dominant in the 2 Mile. Conrad turned in a personal best of 11:14.55 to win the event by over 40 seconds, and now ranks MA #5 in the event. Back in the field events, junior Aubrey Deardorf proved once again that she is on another level in the Long Jump. In her signature style, Deardorf's first attempt was her best, as she flew out 19'0.75" to break her own LHS record and extend her MA #1 lead in the event.
