LHS'S BOMB SQUAD EXPLODES AT THE MASS HAMMER INVITE
Meet Information
Mass Hammer Invite
April 24, 2026
Lexington High School - Lexington, MA
RESULTS
LEXINGTON, MA - On Saturday, Lexington welcomed some of the top throwers from around Eastern Massachusetts to town for the Mass Hammer Invite. The throws-only meet featured boys and girls competing in the hammer and the discus. LHS's Bomb Squad was on their game from the moment the competition got under way, with numerous season and personal bests that led to LHS taking the top spot in three of the four events.
It is odd to think that a US #4 mark could be overshadowed in any meet, but that is exactly what happened on Saturday afternoon as senior captain Ainsley Cuthbertson outdid herself. After she had already won the hammer throw with that personal best mark of 176'6", Cuthbertson stepped into the discus circle. The LHS senior held a PR of 130'0", but had not come close to that distance so far this spring. That all came to an end on Saturday, as she unleashed the discus an incredible 146'3" into the sector. That throw won the event by nearly 10 feet, and was the farthest throw by a Bay State girl since 2022. Over on the boys' side, the highlight of the day for the Bomb Squad was turned in by Franz Schroeder. The senior won the hammer throw with a personal best throw of 191'7", which moved him up to US #28 in the event.
Other Highlight from the Meet
