New England Hammer Throw Championships
June 9, 2026
Conley Stadium - Providence, RI

RESULTS

PROVIDENCE, RI - On Tuesday, LHS's Bomb Squad traveled to the Ocean State for the final time this spring, as they competed in the New England Hammer Throw Championships. The meet, at Mount Pleasant High School, brought together the best hammer throwers in the region to compete in multiple disciplines of the event. In the end, senior captain Ainsley Cuthbertson was LHS's top performer on the day. Her best throw of 171'0" earned the bronze medal. With Nationals just around the corner, Cuthbertson currently ranks US #8 in her signature event.

Other Highlights from the Meet
  • Sophomore Evelyn Radcliffe delivered a huge PR of 124'8"; along with landing 18th on Tuesday, the mark eclipsed Cuthbertson's sophomore class record in the event by an even six feet.
  • In the boys hammer, senior Franz Schroeder threw 176'0" to finish 17th; fellow classmate Christian Brown (143'4") was 29th.
