THE MINUTEMEN CELEBRATE THEIR SENIORS IN STYLE WITH A PAIR OF WINS OVER BELMONT

Belmont Dual Meet
October 21, 2025
Lincoln Field - Lexington, MA

RESULTS

LEXINGTON, MA - Tuesday afternoon The Minutemen welcomed the Marauders from Belmont to Lincoln Field for the final home meet of the season. For Lexington's Class of 2026, this would be the final time they competed on the legendary hills of Baskin and Loring as a member of the cross country team. With Senior Day as the backdrop on a beautifully crisp fall afternoon, The Minutemen sent their seniors out in style with a pair of decisive victories. LHS took the first 20 places in the boys' combined varsity/JV race en route to a perfect 15-50 win. Meanwhile, the Lex girls polished off their undefeated regular season, and clinched the Middlesex League's Liberty Division crown with a 17-44 victory of their own.

On a day that was all about the seniors, perhaps it was only fitting that the winner of the boys' race was a member of the Class of '26. While junior Owen Ross took the race out hard from the gun, senior Sam Finch stayed right at the front of the chase pack through first two miles. Finch, along with fellow classmates Liam Singh, Will Parker, and Owen Kuder were joined by junior Holden Cassity and sophomore Rohan Banerji as they all passed the 2-mile mark between 10:37 and 10:39 pace. From there, Finch charged up Baskin hill for the final time, and moved away from his teammates. As he came down the hill, he cruised by Ross, and began a nearly mile-long drive to the finish that resulted in him crossing the line victorious in a time of 16:27.7. Along with the win, Finch's time was the eighth fastest all-time performance turned in by an LHS athlete on the home course. Keeping the Senior Day theme going, it was Singh, one of the team's captains, who came across the line in second place after a time of 16:34.6. Cassity was next in 16:35.6, followed by Ross who managed fourth place overall in a time of 16:39.0. Parker (16:41.0) was LHS's fifth man on Tuesday, while his classmate, Kuder, dipped under the elusive 17-minute barrier for the first time on the home course with a time of 16:53.5. Junior Finn O'Donnell (16:55.2) finished seventh. Meanwhile, it was junior Eric House (17:03.2), senior Colin Ryan (17:13.7), and sophomore Ethan Wang (17:30.7) who were the last three varsity finishers on the afternoon. Along with the varsity-10, the efforts a few JV athletes delivered against Belmont cannot be overlooked. Sophomore Rohan Banerji continued his breakout season with a time of 16:46.8. Junior Gabriel Ostrower also came in under 17 minutes, as he finished in 16:57.7. In his first race on the home course, freshman Kiran Green finished in 17:02.5. While senior Henry Finch left his final mark on the home course with an all-time best of 17:15.2.

As they did in the boys' race, the seniors shined bright in the girls' race. This time, however, it was a pair of captains that led the way. Senior Meghan Caldera took it from wire-to-wire as she tackled the hills around LHS for the final time in her career with ease. A 6:16 opening mile put her in the driver's seat, as she opened up a wide gap on the field. Caldera continued to pour it on in the latter half of the race, and eventually came through the line grinning from ear-to-ear after winning the race in 19:55.2. After a breakthrough performance just three days ago at Franklin Park, fellow classmate and captain Thayer DiCerbo was tasked with laying back early and moving up through the race to help her teammates along the way. She did just that. DiCerbo increased her pace significantly after each mile, and crossed the line second overall in 20:09.9. After the seniors, it was junior Josie Bettencourt who placed third overall in a time of 20:21.4. She was followed closely by sophomore Addie Haiar (20:25.1). Fellow classmate Isabella Gorospe (21:23.3) was the fifth finisher for the Lex girls, seventh overall. Senior Prachi Aggarwal delivered what was arguably the finest performance of her cross country career. She shaved off over 40 seconds from her lifetime best on the home course, and finished eighth with a time of 21:32.1. Freshman Victoria Davidson (21:37.3) had a big day in her own right, as she finished ninth. Fellow classmate Beatrix Koch-Cochrane (21:58.8) was 10th. And, it was junior Allie Galloway who was the final varsity finisher on Tuesday. Galloway came across the line 13th with a time of 22:42.5.
