THE MINUTEMEN MAKE THEIR PRESENCE KNOWN IN CONNECTICUT
Meet Information
42nd Wickham Park Invitational
October 11, 2025
Wickham Park - Manchester, CT
RESULTS
MANCHESTER, CT - After a disappointing showing against rival Reading earlier in the week, The Minutemen were eager to get another chance to show their stuff. That opportunity came at the site of Connecticut's divisional and state meets, as Lexington competed in the Constitution State for the first time in team history. As bad as things went for The Minutemen on Tuesday, that is how well they went on Saturday. LHS dominated the field, swept the first four places, and turned in a nearly perfect 16-point final score to earn the hardware in the Large School Race.
A huge part of The Minutemen's big win on Saturday was the return of Trevor Stevens. The team's junior captain had been sidelined with a foot injury going back to the spring season, but he had been targeting this race for his season debut for the past few weeks. With Stevens back healthy, The Minutemen's one-two punch of him and fellow classmate Patrick Noonan were formidable. The pair were a bit back of the leaders through the first mile, but with a hard charge after the mile mark they overtook Darien (CT) senior Andrew Sharron for the lead just before the halfway point of the race, and never looked back. Over the final quarter mile, Stevens had pulled away from Noonan. However, Noonan found one final gear that carried him past his teammate to victory in a time of 16:29.60. Stevens crossed the line second overall in 16:33.19, after a tremendous season debut. While the LHS juniors were taking care of business up front, The Minutemen's next group was slowly working its way up through the field. Sophomore Rhys Behling, junior Alden Hall, sophomore Andrew Zhang, senior Liam Singh, and junior Owen Ross were putting on a pack running clinic through the first mile and a half. They came up the first major hill of Wickham Park to the mile mark in 5:25, and then went to work on the field over the final 2.1 miles. As they came out of the woods for the final time, Behling and Hall were running third and fourth respectively, which is where they would end up. Behling came through in 16:45.64. Hall was just strides behind in 16:49.49. With the top four spots secured, Zhang held off the hard charge of Amity (CT) senior Luke Cushing and Manchester (CT) senior Alejandro Juro to place sixth overall in 16:55.26. Zhang's performance slammed the door shut on a sensational victory for his team. Along with the top-five, Singh (17:09.13) and Ross (17:10.99) both came home with some hardware, as the pair placed 11th and 12th respectively. After their performance at Wickham Park, it is clear The Minutemen are primed to compete with the top teams in the Bay State with championship season just around the corner.
