Boys & Girls Teams Helping the Lexington Conservation Stewardship Program
Lexington, MA - Members of the Boys & Girls Teams took some time out of their vacation this past week to give back to the Lexington community. Working in partnership with the Lexington Conservation Stewardship Program, dozens of kids were out hauling materials over a newly blazed, quarter mile long trail in the Hayden Avenue conservation area. The boys and girls worked quickly to lay the groundwork for what will eventually become a 600 foot long boardwalk in the area.
Conservation Stewardship Program Coordinator, Jordan McCarron helped to organize the afternoon of service and was extremely pleased with how well the members of the team worked together to accomplish the work he had planned for them. According to McCarron, the plan is to have the boardwalk finished off by the fall so that the members of the Lexington Commnunity, as well as the Lexington Track and Cross Country Teams can enjoy traversing the boardwalk they helped build as soon as possible.
