TANDEIH AND BURSCU LEAD THE WAY FOR LHS AT FRESHMEN/SOPHOMORE MEET
Meet Information
MSTCA Auerbach Freshmen/Sophomore Meet
January 9, 2022
Reggie Lewis Center - Boston, MA
RESULTS
BOSTON, MA - Sunday LHS's underclassmen took center stage at Reggie Lewis for the annual Freshmen/Sophomore Meet. The meet offered the chance for the underclassmen to see how they stack up against fellow classmates from across the state. While The Minutemen did not have their usual full complement of athletes at Frosh/Soph, the ones who competed certainly showed they will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years.
For the Lex Girls, no athlete stood taller than Quin Tandeih. A Discus thrower by trade, the sophomore thrower put the state on notice last Spring when she placed fourth at the All-State Championships in her signature event with what ended up being the second farthest throw in LHS history. Sunday, Tandeih was in the Shot Put ring where her best throw traveled 29'4" and landed her in fifth place overall. On the Boys side it was sophomore Glenn Burscu who turned in the performance of the meet. He began his day as the second seed in the 600m. However, with a quick 27-second opening lap, the sophomore gapped the field and built a lead that he would not relinquish. In the end, Burscu broke the tape in a new PR of 1:27.38 to earn the victory. He then doubled back to anchor his team's 4x400m Relay in the unseeded section with an unofficial split of 54.7 seconds. That time would hold up through the heats to earn him a silver medal to go with his 600m gold.
