THE MINUTEMEN SHOW WELL AGAINST TOP TALENT FROM ACROSS THE NORTHEAST

Meet Information
MSTCA Boston Holiday Challenge
December 27, 2021
Reggie Lewis Center - Boston, MA
RESULTS
BOSTON, MA - Monday, a select group of LHS athletes traveled into Roxbury to compete against some of the top talent from across the northeast. Schools from New England and New York were represented at this year's Boston Holiday Challenge, and The Minutemen proved they are ready to compete with the best at this early stage of the season.
The meet began with junior Jayden Bai competing in his first Pentathlon in nearly two years. After placing sixth in the 55m High Hurdles (8.84), second in the Long Jump (18'5.25"), first in the High Jump (5'8"), and second in the Shot Put (29'5.50"), Bai was in position for a podium finish going into the final event - the 1000m. After four grueling events, the LHS junior grinded his way to a 3:20.81 finish to bring his final score up to a new PR of 2619 points. That mark was enough to earn Bai the bronze medal. Next up was one of The Minutemen's star distance runners, Ava Criniti. The junior went out hard in the Mile and held onto the chase pack for the first three-quarters of the race before unleashing a vicious kick over the final 200m, which had her closing in 33 seconds to cross the line in second place with a new PR of 5:08.96. The final podium finisher on the day came from senior captain Mari McBride, who proved to be the class of the field in the Girls High Jump. Easily clearing the bar at 5'3", she won the event going away.
