BOSTON, MA - Sunday The Minutemen were back yet again at Reggie Lewis for the third and final day of the Northeast Invitational. Over the first two days of competition LHS athletes had turned in 23 personal or season bests, and after Sunday's meet had wrapped up that number had grown to 34!
The top two finishers on the day for The Minutemen both came in the 400m. Senior captain Josh Lee showed that he was fit for a strong race yesterday when he popped off the 4x400m Relay with an unofficial split of 51.2 seconds. Today he charged out from the gun with an unofficial 24.1 split through the first 200m. Lee continued to pour it on over the second half of the race to cross the line in third place with a new PR of 50.84 seconds. Not to be outdone, fellow classmate and captain Mari McBride followed up her victory in the High Jump on Saturday with another impressive performance on Sunday, as she debuted in the event indoors. McBride would place second overall with a PR of 59.15 seconds.

The Minutemen will be back at Reggie Lewis on Wednesday, January 19th for the third JV Meet of the season. This meet will offer junior varsity athletes their lone opportunity to compete on the 200m banked track in Roxbury this season. Competition begins at 4:30pm.

Other Highlights from Sunday:
- In the 2 Mile senior captain Clara Fu (11:35.90) grinded her way to a PR and eighth place finish; junior Uma Sanker (11:46.13) ran a big PR of her own to finish 10th.
- Competing in the unseeded section of the Shot Put, sophomore Quin Tandeih set a new PR by breaking the elusive 30-foot barrier with a best throw of 30'10"; that throw qualified her for the Middlesex League Championships.
- The unseeded section of the 55m High Hurdles saw sophomore Katie Atkins follow up her school record performance in the Pole Vault on Friday night with a PR of 10.31 seconds; freshman Sofia Green (11.07) ran a big PR of her own.
- In the 55m Dash, junior Michael Gerfen returned from injury to compete for the first time this season; his time of 7.03 seconds was a PR and qualified him for the League Championships.
- Juniors Jayden Bai (23.95), Miguel Jaramillo (24.40), and Gerfen (24.42) all competed in the 200m for the first time indoors, with each finishing in the top 30.
