January 12, 2024
Reggie Lewis Center - Boston, MA
RESULTS
BOSTON, MA - Sunday, on the third and final day of competition The Minutemen saw a number of strong performances by their sprint squad and middle distance crew. While Massachusetts seldomly competes the 800m indoors, junior captain Max Zhang, senior Nayan Das and freshman Arjun Raha got their chance at the Northeast Invite. In the seeded section, Zhang ran well and crossed the line fifth in a time of 1:58.90. Das just missed breaking the elusive two-minute barrier, but placed seventh with a time of 2:00.02. A 2:04 runner in middle school, Raha got his first real taste of high school middle distance running. He battled his way through a crowded field to run 2:05.85. That time was good enough to achieve the New Balance Indoor Nationals standard in the Freshman Division. Also hitting the Freshman mark at Nationals was fellow classmate Shreyas Hanchinamani. His time of 55.63 in the 400m was personal best.
