READING, MA - On Tuesday The Minutemen wrapped up regular season competition on the 2.95 mile course that winds through the neighborhoods surrounding Reading Memorial High School. The Girls finished off an undefeated regular season in the Liberty Division by easily taking the win 18-41. With a record of 5-1 in Middlesex League action, and their only loss coming in a cross division race when their top runners were not racing, the Girls were crowned Middlesex League Regular Season Champions.

The Minutemen took the top four places in the Girls race. Leading the way was star junior Danna Ofek, who finished off a nearly undefeated regular season of her own, winning in a time of 18:02. Senior captain Kesinia Sortor was second in a time of 18:17. Junior Pauline Steines was third, crossing the line in 18:21. Sophomore Anna Nelson also got in ahead of Reading's top runner in a time of 18:28. Freshman Clara Fu (19:10) was The Minutemen's all important fifth finisher, crossing the line in eighth place. In addition to the top five there were other strong performances. Sophomore Izzy Jakimczyk was ninth overall in a time of 19:21. Junior Isabel Siu-Zmuidzius followed right behind, finishing in 19:24. Sophomore Lauren Sterne finished in 19:52. Summer Spencer and Julia Newell rounded out the varsity squad finishing in 20:07 and 20:08 respectively.

The Boys finished off their regular season in impressive fashion, taking nine of the top ten spots in the race. Nick Porter (14:45) won the race in the fastest time run on Reading's home course in recent memory. Reading senior Andrew Riffe also broke 15 minutes, placing second in 14:54. After Riffe it was a quartet of Lexington juniors coming across the line. Selvin Backert placed third in 15:04. Matt McAlarney followed right behind finishing fourth in 15:08. Adam Bernstein was fifth in 15:10. Micah Benson (15:12) rounded out the top five by placing sixth overall. Sophomore Maxim Slobodchikov came in seventh in 15:15. Senior captain Jeb Jacob was eighth in 15:16. Sophomores Max DiCerbo (15:24) and Nate Croke (15:42) were ninth and tenth respectively. And it was freshman Evan Eberle (16:29) who was the final varsity finisher for The Minutemen.
