LEXINGTON, MA - The Minutemen went up against Belmont in what was a damp and dreary day on the home course. Despite the weather, both teams came up with impressive performances. On the Girls side The Minutemen took care of business with relative ease, taking five of the top six places and winning by a score of 18 to 39. As she has done all year, standout junior Danna Ofek lead the way for The Minutemen winning the race in a time of 20:05. She was followed by senior captain Kesinia Sortor who was second in a time of 20:13. Junior Pauline Steines was fourth in 20:37. Sophomores Leena Jafaar (20:42) and Anna Nelson (20:52) rounded out the top five by placing fifth and sixth respectively.
For the Boys, it was more of the same. Running as a pack for the first two miles before dropping the hammer over the last mile, the group of senior captain Eli Gappelberg (16:57), sophomore Nick Porter (16:58), juniors Matt McAlarney (17:10) and Selvin Backert (17:11), and senior captain Jeb Jacob (17:12) swept the top five places en route to a 15-47 thumping of Belmont. After a third place finish at Clipper Relays, the Boys have now ripped off four wins in a row.

The meet is set to begin at 3:45pm at the Arlington Reservoir.
