First, he threw a personal best in the Shot Put, winning the event with a distance of 44'11.25". He later came back to win the Discus with a throw of 115'11". Senior Lucas Honohan put down one of the fastest 400 meter dash times in the state so far this season. Honohan won the even in a time of 49.20 seconds, and would return to lead off the 4x400 meter relay, which won in a Division 1 Championships qualifying time of 3:29.10. However, the race of the day on the Boys' side was the 400 intermediate hurdles between Lexington sophomore Andrew McGovern and Woburn senior Brendan Tumwesigye. In the end, Tumwesigye (56.20) got the better of McGovern (56.40), in what were the #1 and #2 times in the state this year.
The Girls too had multiple standout performances. The race of the day honor certainly went to sophomore Pauline Steines in the Mile. Steines and Woburn's Maura Doherty traded the lead multiple times in the final lap, but eventually it was Steines fighting for the win and just edging out Doherty by two-tenths of a second at the line, in a season best time of 5:30.20.
