RESULTS
NEWBURYPORT, MA - Saturday The Minutemen debuted their 2021 squad at the annual Clipper Relays. With over two dozen schools sending athletes that made up 3-person relays, with each runner covering a two mile loop, The Minutemen showed well with both the boys and girls landing on the podium with their top relays. It was the trio from St. John's Prep that took home the boys title with a time of 30:23, while on the girls side, Pentucket's top relay crossed the line first overall with a time of 36:47.
LHS's top team on the boys side was made up of senior captain Evan Eberle (10:12), junior Antonio Lopez (10:24), and senior captain Graham Bracken (10:12) who combined to place third overall with a total time of 30:49. Along with the top team's great showing there were a number of other strong performances by The Minutemen. Junior Aidan McPhee ran 10:51. Joey Ryan was LHS's top underclassmen, finishing his leg in 10:56. Seniors Thomas Lane and Dimitri Kontos both ran 10:57 on their respective legs. Senior captain Noah Quadri ran 11:03. Junior Rob Badger turned in a strong debut with a time of 11:04, while Nick Lam (11:11) rounded out the top 10 finishers for The Minutemen.
The Lex girls were led by the team of senior captain Clara Fu (12:16), and juniors Uma Sanker (12:47) and Mirra Payson (12:40) who's combined time of 37:44 placed them second overall. Senior captain Camelia Atassi had a breakout run, finishing in 13:28 for the two mile loop. Not to be outdone, sophomore Maya Dubrovsky split 13:28 as well in her first XC race. LHS's first freshman was Claire Cunningham who turned in a 13:34. She was followed by fellow classmate Dora Liao who turned in a 13:37 split. Junior Ashley Taylor was next for LHS with a time of 13:47. Fellow classmate Jasmine Sun ran 13:48. Freshman Mirei Saneyoshi rounded out the top 10 with a time of 14:01.

Next Saturday, September 18th, The Minutemen will head down to Highland Park in Attleboro to compete in the Highland Park Invitational. The meet begins at 9:00am.
